Clay Gilliland
Clay Gilliland, AAMS® Senior Portfolio Strategist

Clay applies more than 34 years of experience in the financial services industry to help people who are near or in retirement have a sound financial plan in place designed to maintain their lifestyle while, at the same time, making their money last.

Clay will tell you that two of his distinguishing attributes are that he cares and he listens. He cares about the financial well-being of his clients, and is always available to discuss their investments and listen to their needs and concerns, from healthcare expenses to car purchases.

As an Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM, Clay has in-depth knowledge of investments, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate planning issues. In addition to financial planning and client service, he is actively involved in building and maintaining investment portfolios, and monitoring the financial markets.

When not helping clients, Clay volunteers at various local charities including The Good Samaritan Clinic, Red Shield Diner, Don Reynolds Cancer Support House in Fort Smith and Carti in Little Rock. Clay has also served as a volunteer firefighter/EMT for the West Pulaski Fire Department, the largest volunteer department in Arkansas. He also served on the department’s board of commissioners and as its secretary/treasurer. In recognition of his service, he was named Firefighter of the Year in 2010 and 2013, earned a commendation for lifesaving efforts from the Pulaski County Sherriff in 2010, and received the Citigroup President's Volunteer Service Award*.

Clay is a native Arkansan. He grew up on a farm north of Fort Smith. Today Clay splits his time between his childhood home of Fort Smith and Little Rock with his wife Lynn. They have four children and are members of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. He enjoys reading and mountain climbing as leisurely pursuits.
